The last year and a half has been a wild ride. Aspects of our lives that provided stability have shifted. We have all experienced change. For many, an expanding waistline, a deterioration in overall health, and social isolation are very real. Does this sound familiar? It does to me. I have retreated to old eating patterns that do not serve me well and MY PANTS ARE TIGHT!

Ugh! I have gained my share of “pandemic pounds”. My joints ache because of it. It sucks. I am so ready for a return to “normal”. I bet you are too. Sure, we have become accustomed to virtual gatherings, but nothing beats a real-life hug. It’s clear the pandemic will be ongoing, so I had to ask myself if I wanted to continue to comfort myself in a way that is actually hurting me or is it time to take back some control of my life.

I chose the latter. It’s time for me to get back on the self-care train. That meant returning to a whole foods diet – like what I have been teaching my clients to do. Yeah, that’s right – I wasn’t walking my talk and it shows in how my clothes fit and how I feel. Last week I started teaching the RESTART® Program to a group of ladies from all over the U.S. and I’m working the program right along with them.

RESTART® is more than a list of foods to eat and foods to avoid. It’s a 5-week foundational nutrition education that explains the “why” behind food choices, so you know how to make decisions about what to eat.
